I enjoyed the 4 corners doco so much I bought the company. No, not really. I did go and join up 2nd life though to check it all out.
I did venture to Info Island to find it was really very empty. To me it seems a bit silly to go to 2nd life for information when it is just a click away anyway. I can see the benefit of getting people together and meeting librarians from all over the world, it is a great place to meet and exchange ideas if you are stuck here in Perth.
2nd life seems to be mostly about chatting idly, dancing and fun. It will be interesting to see how the Information/ Library part of it expands.

Maybe its just the timezone? There might be more people in Info Island during US business hours.
Someone left this link on my blog..it looks like a blog of librarians who use SL but one of them has said it was empty as well!

Second life when the first is taking all my time, I don't think so. It is an interesting concept though and is it gets more populated, thinks might be different. We could hold virtual library meetings ther instead of video conferencing -maybe
